Wednesday Lunchtime Treat

Sorry for the lack of recent updates, not been that well and way behind on work... Therefore this one is going to have to be a quick one, too, I will try my best to do much better really soon!

Old offer-favourite ASOS is giving not only 20% off selected items but until 4th April you'll get another 20% off their so-called "Happy Items".

Boden is running its last week of up to 25% off - this time we're focusing on tops, workwear, swimsuits, accessories and shoes. Check out this cute silk top, down to £59.25 from £79.

House of Fraser is promising a 2 day brand event: starting from today 5pm until Friday 30th March they are giving 25% off selected branded items.

Girly Pastels

How have I not yet posted more about my favourite trend this season?!

Could it be that, although I am getting dressed in soft hues in my head, in reality a look out the window usually results in me pulling on the black tights & boot combo. Pastels on top of that don't really work. [let's challenge that!]

Anyway, in preparation of what will be very soon, I went a bit "all-over-pastel" on both highstreet and designer budgets. What do you think?

Highstreet - total spend £245

Wednesday Lunchtime Treat

Blimey, another week gone again?! I just had to fork out way to much to get my car MOT'd so shopping is pretty much off the menu for the next few weeks. Well, maybe if I found a real bargain...

Asos' current 50% off 50 essential items is running until midnight tomorrow, so if you haven't ordered yet and fancy any of the currently offered items, get your skates on! My current fave is this cotton jacquard skirt with contrast lining - I think this is such a summer staple and at £17.50 an incredible bargain! [don't forget to check back as offers are refreshed regularly!]

Remember that Boden Riviera dress I told you about last week? Well, I did a bit of measuring and I think it's just going to be way too long and out of proportion on me. Let's hope the lovely people at Boden will give me a petite version next SS-season! This week it's all about knitwear, shoes and accessories, so if you're after a pretty cardigan, preppy jumper, new bag or summer flats, head straight to their weekly deal page - at up to 25% off a few great value for money items to be had. Anyway, I just really fancy their cricket jumper right now. Loving the neutral but the quail egg would be perfect with some pastel items.

Missed Marni at H&M and can't afford the full price thing? One of my favourite high-end low-price places, the Outnet, is offering the cooky Italian label at up to 70% off. Alongside clothes, there are some of their statement necklaces to be found!

Happy bargain hunting and let me know if you found anything!

Wednesday Lunchtime Treat

Wednesday. Already? Only?!

Seriously, this week I don't know whether I am coming or going so having a 5-minute break over lunch to hunt out some great deals are more than just a treat - they are a downright necessity to keep me sane.

Head to Dorothy Perkins for and extra 10% off their already up to 50% reduced sales lines. But hurry: the extra 10% off only apply until tomorrow!

ASOS is holding a limited-time-only-50%-off-50-key-pieces-sale.  And just like DottyP's deal, this one is running out by tomorrow. But fret not and check back regularly as they are promising us daily-deals for the whole of March.

After something a bit more... wholesome? Boden is tempting us with 25% off all women's dresses, so if you're after an easy to wear yet chique jersey number, you could do a whole lot worse! I actually love their Riviera dress but if I want to get it at the 25% off I better get my order in: the offer is only on until Monday 19th March.

And last but not least, pop by Cocosa. They have some fantastic designers on at the moment, a special weeding boutique (gowns, footwear, lingerie) and popular items are selling out fast. My current favourite is definitely Maria Grachvogel (sorry Viv). Her graphic prints are absolutely amazing. Ok, just the one to wet your appetite.

Happy shopping!

Springtime Laptop Bags

I'm a bit of a geek. Not necessarily in a sit-in-a-corner-capable-of-a-Salander-like-hacker-overtake fashion and not even in a know-lots-of-answers-at-University-Challenge way. But I do like my gadgets, have been known to enjoy playing the odd board game (and no, Monopoly & co do not count!), put my CDs in alphabetical order and probably get most excited about accessories that have a real use and aren't just pretty to look at.

There is my Smythson iPhone cover in a gorgeous minty colour. My monogrammed Smythson travel wallet, which Mr. G gave me for my last birthday (and almost made me cry) and my Mulberry wallet (currently at the Mulberry clinic). All of these were selected carefully not just on looks but mainly on function, in fact, I stopped just short of unloading my wallet's content in the Mulberry store to stuff it all into some of the goods on display.

Carrying around my company laptop in its Dell bag, was not exactly a pleasant experience. Not only was the bag ugly (black, cheap polyester), it also wasn't as practical as I would have hoped an ugly bag to be; the strap for example was so long, that I could not carry it on my shoulder comfortably.

Looking for an alternative, I soon stumbled across Knomo, stylish, yet clever and functional bags for your laptop. I have since acquired a few different bags, trolleys and laptop sleeves there and can only recommend them for their quality, well-thought-out details and easy style.

I am currently carrying my laptop in this black Carnaby model, very classic and (I like this) not obviously looking like a laptop bag.

With spring in the air, fresh colours soon to be on my feet, and the highstreet awash with even more colour, I am lusting after something a bit fresher and in keeping with my brighter mood, so these are my favourites:

Springtime laptop bags

£950 Mulberry

£795 Mulberry

£245 LK Bennett

£150 Knomo

£40 Asos

£245 LK Bennett

£245 LK Bennett

£150 Knomo

Now, they are not all strictly speaking laptop bags, but big enough to accommodate one (within a sleeve, so there is my practical side coming through) and buying an item that can multi-task surely is the epitome of practicality?!

Multi-Tonal Jewellery

I have always loved rose-gold and especially multi-tonal jewellery but right now my love has turned into some serious lust and even though I have a couple of pieces in my jewellery box, I might just have to indulge...

What - or indeed if - I am actually going to buy, will be largely dictated by budget and as with everything else, the sky is the limit. Here are my favourite options...

Right, first up a real budget find. These Mini Door Knocker Earrings from Topshop mix gold and silver-tones, are small enough to be worn tongue-in-cheek ladylike but also quirky enough to add a bit of edge to a casual outfit. At £6.50 a great little treat!

Another great bargain at £8 is this bracelet from Accessorize. Similarly as with the earrings above, the different textures add to the different tones. Great for a bit of last-minute topping up an outfit!

There is, of course, always the option of going with something delicate and genuine, such as this set of stackable set of rings from Nadina Giurgiu. So pretty, ultimately timeless, classic and probably something I'd cherish forever. At $90 (ca. £56) not dirt cheap but I think that's great value for money for a piece (or rather 12 in this case!) of handmade, real jewellery!

Another item in this price-range is this really pretty Disney Couture trio of bangles (sold at ASOS). They are silver, gold and rose-gold plated, feature sweet slogans engraved on each and a gold-plated chain with charms. With a pricetag of £75 possibly a nice gift for your best friend - or yourself?

I don't know about you but for me jewellery doesn't come much better or more romantic, than in one of those little "robin egg blue" (apparently that's the official name!) boxes:

There are quite a few really lovely pieces in the current collection, mixing rose-gold, silver and sometimes yellow gold but I like this piece for it's unabashed reference to the jewellery house's heritage: two interlocking circles, hallmarked with the company's founding year. At £485 likely to be something to save up for or to ask as a gift for a special occasion!

Now, talking about special, this would definitely apply to the following item. The Expansion Joint Cuff by Eddie Borgo (pre-order on Moda Operandi) is just a spectular statement piece. At $1850 (ca. £1162) a far cry from anywhere near my budget but something so unusual and fantastically strange. Just imagine wearing it with a floaty evening gown or with a simple white tee. *Sigh*.

Do let me know if you like the trend and whether you have any multi-tonal jewellery in your jewellery box?

Wednesday Lunchtime Treat!

So we are officially half-way through the week. Is there a better time for little pick me up?

Reason 1: I reward myself for having gotten to Wednesday without major breakdowns.
Reason 2: I give myself a little cheer so I will make it to the end of the week!

With it being the 29th of February, I could do one of those "ladies, propose to your man - buy him a ring/watch/... here" but I think it's a rather daft concept to only be "allowed" to propose once every 4 years. So I shall ignore that tradition.

Instead, I'll give you a quick rundown on the leapyear promotions I've been getting. Most of these are only valid for today so be quick!

Up to 29% off with Promocode LEAPDAY10

29% off with Promocode 5250

Up to 50% off Sale starting today

Melissa Shoes up to 60% off
Hurry up, just a few of the gorgeous Vivienne Westwood PomPom Heels left. Also get ready to check out the Alice by Temperley Sale launching tomorrow!

Enjoy your lunch!
