New Zara Favourites

I currently keep finding new Zara stuff I love (so I am also trying not too keep browsing them too often!) but I did take the plunge on the three below:
* an oversized shirt (dress?!)
* a pair of feathered trainers (!)   and
* an embellished sweatshirt with bishop sleeves.
Two of them definitely out of my comfort zone, and you know what? I loved wearing them!

Not something I've worn before, that shirt (dress?!) is huge on me, but I totally fell in love with it! (Mr G actually joked whether I was off painting - and I don't think he's far off.) This kind of blush pink is turning into my favourite hue this season.
Shirt, shoes & necklace: Zara
Jeans: Next

I was wondering whether the stripes AND the pattern AND the multi coloured jacket AND the necklace were a bit much but I do like it. :)
Top & skirt: Boden
Jacket: Zara
Trainers: Converse
Necklace: Aarikka

I absolutely love my new (and current) Zara jumper! It's comfy and cosy, which is perfect for the colder months to come,
but has enough detail to make my outfit. :)
Jumper: Zara
Skirt: BCBG MAXAZRIA
Trainers: Kurt Geiger

Fluffy jumper and summer skirt. And that necklace. I love the mix of zesty and pastel colours.

Come on Spring!

Spring is definitely in the air - and I feel like wearing colour! It also means my black boots will slowly get relegated and I can dig out other footwear. And then I will have to remember or figure out Spring/Summer outfits. Can't wait for it to be Spring every year - and then it still comes as a surprise!

I love this skirt (yes, it's new and current and available here) and paired with the belt it's the perfect "I have a waist!" cheat!
Top: Karen Millen
Boots: Office
Belt: Reiss
Necklace: Aarikka

How lovely is this necklace?!

Worth adding: As I usually commute into work via train and (living in Manchester) a exposed to a fair bit of rain/wind/cold weather, I don't tend to coordinate my coat with the rest of my outfit. I usually wear whatever the weather demands, something functional, with a hood and warm lining at this time of year.

As I was driving in that day, I indulged and wore a jacket that has been hanging in my wardrobe for years and big scarf.

Some groundbreaking florals for spring. And a bit of a story: I believe it was in SS14 when Boden brought out their best prints in years. Beautiful florals. I ordered way too many items because I couldn't decide - and was then pretty ruthless when they arrived, only keeping a couple. This skirt went back. I've been hankering after it for a while and just managed to find it on eBay (of course). Happy me. Have you ever done that?
Shirt: Laredoute
Skirt: Boden
Trainers: Converse

Had completely forgotten little M was supposed to wear something green today. #mumfail Not sure my own green dress from yesterday makes up for it? And yes: I'm wearing the necklace wonky and only just realised this when assembling the pics. *sigh*
Dress: Mango
Boots: Marks and Spencer
Necklace: Accessorize

It's getting milder, the sun is peeping out every now and again - spring is definitely around the corner. (Oh, and did I mention hayfever?) Time for a bit more colour. It's not even a conscious decision, it just kind of happens. Do you find that you're automatically picking more colourful clothes when winter starts to go?

Office Girl or Hippie

If you follow me on Facebook you might have noticed that I was on holiday last week. Sometimes that means I have more time to blog. Sometimes that means I forget that I have a blog - apart from posting random holiday snaps via Instagram. So the below is the whole all of the outfit shots I did over the past two weeks. And there is even one that shows a truly 'holiday' outfit!

Boden skirt and H&M top print mix and match
Never would have thought about putting these two prints together - until I saw that the mustardy yellow is pretty much the same shade in both. Not sure about the shoes though...
Top: H&M
Skirt: Boden
Shoes: Zara

Zara skirt and Warehouse top
I wasn't sure about this one when I put it on in the morning. That below-the-knee length is so tricky if you're wearing flats. But I had about three people comment on it - favourably - so it must look ok. :)
Top: Warehouse
Skirt: Zara
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Necklace: Aarikka

Multi coloured hareem pants
Do you buy clothes when you're on holiday? I don't mean, pop into a H&M and buy an extra t-shirt. Or find a local shop that stocks your favourite designer.
I mean the kind of stuff that you pick up when on a summer holiday: t-shirts with weird prints, tops that scream hippie - and trousers like these ones.
I bought them quite a few years ago in Piran/Slovenia because it was so hot and they looked like fun. Since then I've not worn them though because they just were a bit too... weird? "Sod it!" I thought last week when I was in Germany and it was hot. And they did make me smile! :)

Only three from last week (but hey: that's one more than the week before) but two new outfits and I have to say I'm rather fond of my new Boden print skirt and that necklace that Mr G brought back from Finland! Oh, and little M makes a guest appearance.
